WILLIAM P. BUSKE APPENDIX "B"
The estate, transferring the securities and working out some rather complicated tax matters.
I had decided, while in service, that I did not want to return to active law practice. The clients I had had before the war were being adequately served by other attorneys, and it would have meant starting all over again from scratch. I did not want to do this. So I began looking for a business in which I could invest capital and my services. Naturally, I have found none so far, but none, as yet, which meets my requirements.
I am a member of the Board of Directors of the following organizations:
The National Service Life Insurance Co., of Chicago, Ill., which is an insurance underwriting business; the Cahill Realty Co., of St. Louis, Mo., a family real estate company; The Household Loan & Investment Co., of New Orleans and Shreveport, La., a company whose stock my associates and I organized essentially to operate "finance offices" in this territory.
I have been active in civic affairs, either as head captain in drives of the Community Chest, and have taken part in drives for the Red Cross, the Anti-Tuberculosis Society, the Cancer Society, etc. I am a member of the Board of the Children's Bureau, a Chest agency, and a member of its finance committee.
