The following is a complete account of my business and professional activities since my return to New Orleans, from Jan. 1, 1947, to the date of this affidavit.

I had entered law school (Tulane) in 1943, but a two-year interruption occurred during my naval service. Upon returning, I entered Tulane University Law School, in October 1945, the earlier indications having been satisfied that the interruption I served as a researcher for the War Department, Chicago, Illinois, as an enlisted man. During this period, I was detailed to the Judge Advocate General's Department, in The July 1947 I received the degree of Juris Doctor, cum laude, and Louisiana bar examinations, my entrance practice as a member of the firm of Burke & Burke, attorneys, was, and I recall it, $7,000 per annum, plus 50% of the fees in the business which I originated. (See two were received by the firm of the fees of $5,000.) I entered the firm, the other partners were my father and my uncle. I agreed to my share of the fees of the firm was to be determined on a 50-50 basis, a equal split, as had been carried for a few years previously.
