Transmitted herewith for SB Division are copies of the passports of Soviet couriers Viktor Sergeyevich ALIMOV and Peter Leonidovich SAMOILOV (Diplomatic 12303 and 13113 respectively). These documents were obtained by BIOGENESIS Travel Controller. ALIMOV and SAMOILOV first transited Buenos Aires on 8 September on reference Alitalia flight from Montevideo to Santiago. They did not deplane but delivered four packages to local Soviet Embassy officials who boarded. (BIOGENESIS did not identify the officials.) They retransited Argentina on 15 September via LAN 797 from Santiago to Montevideo and again remained on the plane. Their travel documents (201-32940) and Peter Gavrilovich ALIMOV (201-32941) boarded to deliver four packages. This is perhaps the first time that ALIMOV, known as a courier flight, that Consular Affairs handled. (201-77977), the suspect KGB officer who usually uses this passport, suffered a serious heart attack in July and has been confined to his apartment since.)
