ARNOLD Meeting in Miami, 25 June 1964

SUBJECT: Photographs of Adelaide Padron

1. During a lull in the meeting I took ARNOLD-1 aside (as instructed) and told him it would be best for all concerned to take Adelaide out of PRIMUS as he had suggested. I mentioned to him there was a growing number of reports of Adelaide finding their way to Washington, making it increasingly difficult for us to protect his rear.

2. I then casually mentioned to him that we had received some obscene photographs which have caused us to do some fast talking with "some people in Washington" who are beginning to have some misgivings about ARNOLD-1. (Actually this story is fictional.)

3. I mentioned the rumors concerning the photographs and asked ARNOLD-1, "Do you mean immoral pictures, Martin?" ARNOLD-1 inquired. I nodded and to avoid his alarm further inquiries about the pictures, I reminded him of his promise that Lucia Case, Mateos "Angelo" (ARNOLD-1 denied knowing her) and Aldo Perez Pena would not follow Adelaide to Nicaragua.

4. During the rest of the meeting ARNOLD-1 appeared to be somewhat dejected and preoccupied. It is my opinion that he is nearing the point that makes it advisable to use the remarks made concerning the existence of these photographs.

5. As the meeting was about to end, ARNOLD-1 asked me, "Do you really have some immoral pictures of me, Martin?" Turning again I said "Yes. These photographs had come into our possession plus much more."
