BACKGROUND DATA AND COMMENT:
The information in the attached was taken from the LITINT coverage of Arnoldo of 7 September. In conversation between Arnoldo and Alfredo Armastraki, Peruvian leftist journalist, Armastraki told Arnoldo of Peru's plans and said that Lima had received information on the United Fruit Company. Armastraki said that Lima did not know that Armastraki would ask Arnoldo for the information. Arnoldo agreed to meet Armastraki to give him the information.
